An apple a day...

Today so much food we consume is full of sugars, carbohydrates, and unnecessary elements that may fill us up but avoid other very important vitamins, minerals, and other components that make for a balanced diet. Things like eating more relevant portion sizes and limiting certain foods in your meals can easily make you feel better and function more efficiently.

Teachers, parents, and caregivers play a large role in helping children make smarter choices in their meals. Consider this; an average school day is around seven hours. With a healthy eight hours of sleep, and nine hours left, kids and adolescence spend around 16 hours awake. Now doing the math that means 31% of the week is spent at school and 69% outside of school on average.

In today’s world it’s difficult to make a difference in a child’s life as a parent or caregiver, though Let’s Move! offers some resources and tools to aid in having a healthier lifestyle and eating habits that’ll stick with them for the rest of their life.
